Overview

The Anteater Learning Pavilion (ALP) is currently under construction on the northwest side of UC Irvine’s main campus. When it opens in Fall 2018, the ALP will provide several new instructional spaces to support the University’s growing student population, including two lecture halls, ten classrooms, three computer labs, and six tutorial rooms. Multiple informal learning spaces are provided as well, including student meeting rooms and large, open lounges with expansive views of Aldrich Park.

The ALP has been designed from the ground-up to support increased interaction and collaboration. Flexible furniture, multiple writing surfaces, increased space per student, and enhanced technologies such as wireless projection and shared displays combine to create classrooms optimized for active learning. In the public areas, students have access to open collaborative and individual study areas, as well as meeting rooms with web conferencing capabilities and the same team-based technology used in the classrooms.
